Rick Joyner teaches on 2 Sam 11:1. If it’s time for war and if you don’t go to war you will be overcome and out of God’s will. It’s time for battle right now. There are strongholds gripping many people. The Religious Spirit is the strongest, most evil and deceptive spirit today. It keeps us from loving God. It causes us to get further and further away from God. We need to see it, recognize it and win the battle against it. There is truth that will set us free.
The religious spirit is a basic ultimate enemy of the power of God and the cross. It is often founded on idealism, performance, pride, zeal, fear, perfectionism, critical spirit, guilt etc. Pride is the most difficult to bring correction to. When you are deceived you don’t know you are deceived. You can’t see it in yourself but rather in everyone else like the Pharisees did. Fear coupled with pride is the most basic carnal religious nature. The religious spirit is doing the most damage to believers today. We are called to cast down these strongholds.
The religious spirit comes with a false gift of discernment and opposes the things of God which is an anti-Christ spirit. What they have masquerading as this gift is suspicion. The church today is eaten up with jealousy and selfish ambition. Phil 1:9. You cannot discern accurately the things that you do not love. Anything but love will distort accuracy.
